ABOUT
Oh, So Ceramic! Exhibition

Texas is a massive state, showcasing an immense variety in climate, culture, and landscape, much like a whole country in and of itself. The Texas A&M University system has eleven affiliates spread across the state. Beneath the A&M umbrella, four passionate artist educators have come together to exhibit their dedication to contemporary ceramics. Striving for creative exchange and community involvement, they have forged a partnership aimed at sparking new dialog in the world of clay through traveling exhibitions, discussions, and workshops. Despite differences, their institutions share much in common. This partnership spotlights the individuality and interconnectedness of their unique art practices, educational institutions, communities, and ceramic programs. Through the confluence of material and process, they aim to ignite a new wave of enthusiasm for ceramics.

About Oso Bay Biennial

The Weil Gallery, opened in 1978 on the freshly renamed Corpus Christi State University campus, which became part of the Texas A&M System in 1989. That academic year after its opening, the Oso Bay Biennial made its debut in the spring of 1979, marking the beginning of a long-standing tradition of artistic excellence, organized by Professor of Art, Greg Reuter. Now celebrating its 23rd edition with Oh, So Ceramic, the biennial continues to rotate disciplines within the Department of Art + Design, showcasing the diverse studio practices and groundbreaking research led by our distinguished faculty. In 2016, the biennial welcomed Graphic Design into the rotation, reflecting the department's adaptation to the evolving creative landscape. We eagerly anticipate the return of Graphic Design in 2026, promising another dynamic exhibition that mirrors the ever-changing environment of our society.
